Meet The Staff

Trevor Jorgensen, M.D.

Clinic Director

Trevor Jorgensen, MD, is a Pacific Northwest native that loves to be active in the outdoors. He grew up in a small town in Idaho, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Portland. Following his undergraduate education, he moved to Seattle, WA where he attended medical school at the University of Washington. He completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency and an anesthesia based, accredited fellowship in pain management at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Missing the Pacific Northwest, he returned to the “City of Roses”, which he now calls home with his wife, two sons, and Boerboel puppy, Tonks.

When he’s not at work, Dr. Jorgensen really enjoys spending time with his family and working in his woodshop building things. He has always had an interest in electronics, mechanics, woodworking and composites since he was a child. His favorite projects have been the speakers and shelves he has built for our clinic and array of different furniture.

David McKee

Physician Assistant

David McKee, PA-C, is a graduate of University of North Carolina where he earned Summa Cum Laude honors with a degree in Psychology and Political Science. He discovered his passion for medicine during time spent as an Emergency Medical Technician while at UNCA. His experience working with trauma patients with acute pain has taught him to approach pain management by looking at all aspects of the patient's pain and with an empathetic mindset for each patient's unique situation. Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, David served in our armed forces as an active duty Marine and went on to complete a Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies with the University of Tennessee.

David was born in Gainesville, FL, and after spending the majority of his time on the East Coast, he packed up his car and began a cross-country road trip to the Pacific Northwest. Enjoying the change of scenery and the uniqueness that Portland offers, David decided to call Portland home and join with the Oregon Pain Center. When David is not at OPC he enjoys playing the drums and practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Sonya Werner

Lead Medical Assistant

Sonya Werner is a graduate of Pioneer Pacific College, where she earned a degree in Applied Science in Medical Assisting. Sonya has been a part of the OPC team since our opening in May 2015. Prior to joining our team, Sonya worked as both the clinic manager and lead MA, at an internal medicine clinic in Portland.

Born in San Diego, CA, Sonya has been in the Pacific Northwest for 18 years. When not working, Sonya enjoys spending time with her family and dog. They enjoy snowboarding, riding quads, and adventures. Sonya and her family also love cars, especially American muscle cars and low-riders.

Sara Smillie

Medical Assistant

Sara Smillie began her career at Central Oregon Community College pursuing a general education degree. Realizing her passions for interacting with people and hearing patient’s stories, she transferred to Pioneer Pacific College to pursue medical assisting. Before joining the Oregon Pain Center, Sara worked as a Medical Assistant at an internal medical clinic in Beaverton, OR.

Raised in beautiful Bend, OR, Portland is now where Sara calls home. Sara is someone who loves to be in the outdoors, which is something that really drew her to Portland. Outside of work, Sara enjoys travelling and immersing herself in different cultures.

Jessica Lamb

Medical Assistant

Jessica Lamb is an Oregonian native and the newest member to our OPC family. Beginning her career at Carrington College, she received her degree in Medical Assisting. Her passions for medical assisting originated from her personal experiences at doctors’ offices inspiring her to give the best care to patients and an MA who is willing to help them with anything.

When she isn’t working, Jessica loves being around her other passion: Euro cars! This is a interest that she found two years ago while learning how to work on cars and learning how to drive a stage two clutch. Her car of choice is her own manual Audi A4, which she is currently building.
